Mr. Talli was my favorite teacher. I hated history and yet he could make it funny and entertaining. Not many teachers can do that now. Everyone respected him more than any other teacher.
Half the class had already taken their seats by the time I got there. I took my seat at the back of the class as the tardy bell rang. Almost immediately, the class quieted and we all began to notice pictures of Sybils past posted on the board.

1. Cast Off
The beeping of my alarm sounded at the same time it did every morning. Six-o-clock. Time to start the day bright and early. As always. Relentlessly, I pulled back my covers and quickly pulled them up again. It got colder and colder every morning. I looked back at the clock and stuck my tongue out at it, hoping it would take the offense and stop time. I pulled back the covers one more time and shivered. Turning to the side of my bed, I let my feet drop to the cold hard wood.
I shuffled over to the window and noticed that the rain last night left behind fog. A dreary, dull fog that covered my sometimes beautiful view of the lake. Usually, it sparkled in the morning sun with a rainbow leaking out of it. Trees surrounded the lake, enclosing it to make it my private area. Id always love that lake.
